![]() SAP BusinessObjects Explorer Test-Drive FAQ How can I upload my own data to the test-drive? To upload data, click on the New Dataset button. You can provide the data as comma-separated values (CSV) or Microsoft Excel (.xls, .xlsx). Can I edit or remove the datasets I upload? Yes. The original contributor is allowed to edit or delete his or her datasets. Which browsers are supported? Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) 7 & Firefox 3.0 are supported browsers for the Test-Drive site. SAP BusinessObjects Explorer also works with IE 6.0 as well. I try to upload my data but I receive the message "Your dataset has no contents. Please add some data to it before exploring it with Polestar". Make sure you have column headings for all your fields. Do not have empty rows between your headings and data. Can I show my datasets to other people? Yes! On your My Datasets page, you can select your dataset that you want to share and then use the Actions | Share feature. Does the test-drive contain all the features of the regular SAP BusinessObjects Explorer product? There are some differences. As an example, with the regular product you have additional integration with other SAP BusinessObjects products and more data configuration options. Is there a data size limit? In the Test-Drive version there is a size limit of 3 megabytes. However, in the regular product you can have terabytes of data and still receive exceptional performance. My input spreadsheet has a column that is alphanumeric but should be interpreted as text. SAP BusinessObjects Explorer insists on inserting commas in values that are numbers only. How to I make this stop? It is an auto-detection algorithm that is based on the first few rows. Try making sure the first row of thecolumn contains an alphabetic character. I receive a chart error sometimes when navigating through my data. It could be that by default SAP BusinessObjects Explorer thinks a certain column is a measure (and tries to do a summation on it) because it is numeric. Try using the Configure button to change the way the column is identified. |
